From our Redefined Zine, September 2016 – a special edition for National Suicide Prevention Awareness month. Grab a few on Friday (or from the Info Center on Sunday) and take them to school.
Suicide is the second leading cause of death among teenagers. That’s crazy, and it’s time we fight back.
September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness month, so all month we’re doing a simple thing to take a stand and writing, “I WILL FIGHT” on our hands.
Why, “I WILL FIGHT”? Because life is worth fighting for and it’s going to take everyone to turn this thing around.
If you’re struggling with depression and/or suicidal thoughts, “I WILL FIGHT” is your declaration that you are worth fighting for and that you won’t go down without a fight.
If you’ve never had a suicidal thought in your life, “I WILL FIGHT” is your statement that you’re willing to do what it takes for those who are struggling, and it’s a symbol to the hurting that you’re there for them.
We hope you’ll take a stand with us. Post pics of your hands with the hashtag #nomoreteensuicide (and tag us @imredefined on IG) or send your snaps to @imredefined.
