Amy Carmichael was different from the rest of the world. She served people in a world that tell us to climb ladders and take care of our own.

Amy never married or had a family of her own because she moved to India to share the love of Jesus with people. While she was there, she discovered that it was common for families to give their children (usually girls) to Hindu “gods.” That meant that the girls belonged to the temples, and when they got old enough, were basically sex slaves.

She started rescuing and caring for children – even in spite of death threats. Today, the organization she started – The Dohnavur Fellowship – is still rescuing and raising orphan girls in India.

Christians aren’t supposed to look like, act like, be like the rest of the world. For more, visit the Freak Show below, or stop by this Friday at 6:30 PM!
